I just realized that I'm a nerd. Or at least I feel like one. Here's why.
I'm sitting at my computer desk which (what little space there is) is covered in my PreCalc book, Ap American book, huge 5 subject notebook, (which is already about to explode open it is so full of papers-and it's only been like a week of this semester!)my handy dandy TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, and my Ap chapter review assignment.
I truly wish that you could see my calculator on top of my math book, my Ap assignment snuggly shoved under my math book up until #24 which I am currently on, my notebook on top of my opened Ap book, and my keyboard on top of my notebook. I have a leaning tower of pisa effect going on over here.
What is making me feel the most nerdy is... my headphones on my head which are plugged into my computer my kindle also plugged into my computer (i'm putting songs on it-yay!) my camera which is currently transfering its pictures into their designated folders and my phone which is sitting on my lap and plugged into the wall.
Think I have enough going on over here? I think a little TOO much!
*Getting to drive the Subaru since the Jeep is in the shop this means... -seat heaters -automatic lock and unlock that works on BOTH doors ALWAYS -audio jack to use for my ipod/phone -smooth sailin' :)

*Child Care. I truly love this class. I'm not sure I could do preschool as a career-I need a little older-but Mrs. Sunderland is oh so great and the kids...well I adore every single one of them.

*Mr. Harris (not for the insane amounts of homework I receive from him)who talks to me about my name and told me that I need to read a book, I don't remember the title...but it was written by a golf caddy ha ha.
*Fruit. Yesterday I ate an extremely superb apple and some frozen grapes.

*New Christmas clooothes!
*Wonderfully nice doctors office lady who left me a kind message reminding me about my appointment tomorrow

*Chemistry. I never would have thought that I would be grateful for a SCIENCE class, and really I'm not. I'm just grateful for my teacher, Mrs. Ludwig which I think everyone would agree with me that she is the best teacher at Bountiful. She's amazing. Truly. Thank you Mrs. Ludwig!
*A warm, comfy bed that is incredibly hard to get out of every morning.
*Financial Lit which consists of about 20 minutes of work max and constant laughter. We have decided that someone should come film that class every single day because it would make a hilarious reality tv show. Honest it would.
*My kindle which I love dearly and cannot seem to put down -The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. such a good book!!
*A very nice school police officer, Officer Cardall and VP Mr. Smith
*My school counselor whom I have not met with yet, but I know will be so sweet because she always is! And she will help me get un-confused and decide what classes to take and how to fix my schedule! What would I do without her?

My list could go on forever, but I think I will stop now. I'm grateful for a LOT this week because even though school started up again (YUCK x's infinity) it has been a good one!
Yeah, yeah, I agree-no Christmas songs before Thanksgiving and no Christmas songs after New Year's. But...come on. I had to. Just listen to her voice!
Thanksgiving this year was wonderful. I know Thanksgiving is kind of a lame holiday, but I must say that it is one of my very favorites. I love how happy everyone gets starting this time of year and there is just something in the air or the water or something I swear!
This year the whole famdamily came over for dinner at 5 and we ate SO much food! I love mashed potatoes, and I love turkey gravy but my very favorite Thanksgiving treat is cream of mushroom and french fried onion green beans. Mmmm mmmm good! I could eat a whole tray of it myself. Another favorite of mine is rolls. This year not only did we get regular homemade rolls but we also got homemade orange rolls, yum! "They're both favorites. If they have both I get grape though cause that's a little more favorite. But if they don't have grape then ah, that's fine cause cherry's favorite anyway. It's like another favorite, just not as much favorite." Anyway, back on track...the point of that is that I love green beans AND rolls ha ha.
After dinner we all cleaned up, relaxed, watched some football, celebrated Mason's birthday, did some crafts, played 'pin the hat on the turkey' (hilarious!), and this movie guessing game ha ha. It was a very fun night at the Haycock household!

This kid opened his first book, "How To Train Your Dragon" (yes, the movie came from this book! Never knew.) and an hour later he was done. 213 pages in an hour. He's amazing!

All in all Thanksgiving was wonderful this year! Happy Turkey Day for all! I'm grateful for all the blessings I have in my life. What a great year!:)
The Alvey's have a cabin up in Oakley that they go up to every few weekends. I went up with them last winter, and the beginning of October they invited me to go and spend a Saturday up their with them and again it was so fun! It was pretty cold, but there was no snow yet this time, which was quite nice. The first time I was nervous to go because I was going to meet most of his extended family on his mom's side, but they are all so nice and now that I know them all, this time there were no nerves!:) They have three horses, Poco, Chief, and Tawny and not gonna lie...they scare me! They are just so big! They are really fun to ride though, so both times Adam and I took a ride on Poco, Adam's favorite horse ha ha.
The first time I went with them to their cabin, we took Poco for a ride, swung on an old wooden swing, and went on a walk by the cute river that runs past their cabin where Adam basically fell through this hole of gross, mucky mud and my foot slipped into the freezing water. Our feet were not in the greatest of shape for the rest of the day ha ha!
This second trip was much less traumatic:) We took another ride on Poco and stopped at a natural spring where we drank some delicious, freezing cold water and rode past the beautiful river. I love being out where you can't see a single cabin, house, anything, just trees and mountains and the river, it is so peaceful and pretty. The one funny event was after we drank from the spring, Adam got back onto Poco and as I was trying to get on, Poco started running away (that is how much he doesn't like me! ha ha!) and I was literally horizontal and hanging on for dear life until Adam helped pull me up and made Poco stop running ha ha. Quite the experience:) Like the first time at their cabin, Adam's mom and siblings fed us a late delicious lunch and then we headed home.

Once upon a time Adam and I were at his house and we could NOT decide what to do. I am quite the indecisive person and Adam and I can never choose what to do or where to go ha ha. So as we sat there trying to force the other person to choose what to do, Adam's dad gave us a fantastic idea! We took my jeep and drove up above the Bountiful B and oh my goodness it was amazing! I can't believe that I had never been up there before-it was THAT cool. If you haven't been above the B like I hadn't, do it.
So we drove up the mountain until we got to the tippy tippy top where we could see out over the city for practically forever! We started to head back down at the absolute perfect time as the sun was setting and it was perfect lighting for pictures. That means that I took a lot and am going to post a lot! Be prepared.

I know that was a lot of pictures, but aren't they amazing?? Uh I love Fall so much! The reds, oranges, yellows and greens. The crunchy, crispy leaves everywhere. Fall is the best time of the year to take pictures. I just love it. This was such a great night above the B and I can't wait to do it again next Fall!
Fall is great for oh-so-many reasons. One being that it is the season which contains my birthday. October 11th-my birthday for the past 17 years. I'm 17. That's really weird to me. One year from now I will be an adult. How strange is that?
I remember, even just a few years back, I wanted to be older SO bad. Now though, I really just wish I could be a little kid again.
In the words of Taylor Swift in her new song "Innocent": "Wasn't it easier in your lunch box days? Wasn't it beautiful when you believed in everything and everybody believed in you?...Wasn't it easier in your firefly catchin' days? Wasn't it beautiful runnin' wild until you fell asleep?"
Or in the words of Rosi Golan in her song "I Don't Wanna Wait": "No one tells me where to go, no one tells me what to do today... I feel just like a child thinking everything is mine at the drop of a dime... Oh I feel just like a child running around getting wild, unaware of the time."
So back to the subject, my birthday was last month and it was great:) I opened my presents that my sweet mom and Cailey bought for me and they did such an awesome job picking things out for me. I got a cute scarf, a super pretty silver bracelet and head band, a turquoise(my favorite color) sweatshirt(sweatshirts are my favorite article of clothing)-so basically that was a total success ha ha, a gray vest, a cute lime green long sleeve shirt, and a pair of jeans.

That same night the family all went out to a pumpkin patch out in South Jordan to pick out some pumpkins which Adam and I later carved with Carly and Judd..that was fun ha ha:)

After dinner Adam gave me a gold necklace and headband which I love and have gotten so many compliments for and a really yummy vanilla lotion-he knows about my super sensitivity to scents and chose great with the vanilla ha ha:)

So to sum it all up, I had a really great birthday and it was really fun to play with my family. Thanks everyone for my birthday presents and wishes!
Fall is my favorite season-by far. But unfortunately Fall has come and gone already this year and I am a serious Debby Downer because of it. Hence this post. To lift my spirits and keep me positive, I am going to blog all about my Fall and pretend that Winter isn't here yet:) Every day until I cover the whole season, I will post something that I love about it, or something that I did during it this year. Here goes today's post.
When asked what you are grateful for, a typical answer from your average-Joe would be "sun", "sunshine", you get the idea. However, in this scenario I am not your average-Joe. My response is rain. Crazy as it may seem, I absolutely love rain. Maybe it has something to do with growing up in Oregon where it rains all year long? I don't know where it comes from, but I DO know that I love it. The smell of rain itself is incredible! Don't you just love walking outside while it's raining and breathing in the fresh, clean air? I do! Not only do I love standing out in the rain getting soaked from head to toe, but I love all the things that rain means. Rain is the essence of Fall. Rain means cool temperatures, it means rain boots, it's my favorite thing about my favorite season. Until next year Fall. Come back soon!
